Travel contracts are the long-term placements that most hospitals utilize to guarantee coverage and promote continuity in staffing. They offer similar benefits to local acute care contract assignments. However, travel assignments offer certain advantages that no local opportunity can.
The largest advantage of a travel contract is literally that it gives you the opportunity to travel throughout the United States and practice nursing. Whether you’d like to see places you’ve never seen, visit out-of-state family, or just to have a change in scenery, travel may be right for you.
Chesapeake Medical Staffing has a dedicated travel specialist who can work with you to help you find a travel assignment in both your clinical and geographic areas of interest. We will work with you to locate housing options that meet your individual needs as well. If you already have a place to stay you can choose a housing stipend instead.
We partner with other nationwide agencies to ensure that even if we don’t have an opportunity that appeals to you at the time, we can find an appropriate assignment as quickly as possible. Just let us know what state and unit in which you’re interested in working, and we’ll work hard to find you a contract! You will be offered multiple housing and travel expense options as part of your compensation package to best suit your preferences.
