Lindsey Erickson Starts the Decade as Our Newest Honoree
As the new decade begins, our New Year’s resolutions are definitely revolving around some more recognition. The year might’ve changed, but the great work our clinicians do still hasn’t!
Lindsey is an amazing asset to our team. Everyone from her Recruiting Manager, to our Human Resources department, have had nothing but great things to say about her. Read more below about how she got started and ended up here at Chesapeake:
Hi, I’m Lindsey! I’m originally from Illinois, but have moved around quite a bit since I graduated from nursing school. I’ve been a nurse for 10 years and have experience in Med/Surg, ICU, and PACU.
I was always interested in the helping professions and nursing seemed like a good fit for me. I love the variety in the field and the teamwork and friendships I’ve made over the years. My mom was an ER nurse for many years, and growing up, I was always fascinated to hear her stories. Being a nurse has helped me grow as a person more than any other career I could think of. It’s a tough job, but even on the worst days, I really enjoy the feeling of helping someone feel cared for.
When my husband and I moved to Washington DC for his grad school this summer, I decided to give agency nursing a try. I always wondered what it was like but was nervous to make the transition because it’s important to me to feel like I’m part of a team. But as it turns out, the fantastic staff at Chesapeake is a great team! I honestly can’t believe I didn’t try agency nursing sooner. I enjoy getting to meet new people with each assignment and developing new relationships around the DC area as I settle in and call it home. I’m still not sure what’s next for me in nursing, but working with Chesapeake gives me the freedom and flexibility to try out different work environments, which I love.
In my free time I can usually be found cooking in my kitchen, outside in my garden, or planning my latest road trip or outdoor excursion.
Congrats Lindsey! Thank you for starting our new year off right with all that you do!
