Drum Roll Please… Congrats to our Clinician of the Month for September, Steven Roach!

We’d like to introduce you to our Clinician of the Month for September, Steven! He is a wonderful example of what an awesome CMS nurse is!

His Recruiting Managers, Sam and Kate, can’t say enough kind words about him! Kate has always said, “He is the NICEST guy! Honestly, love working with him.” Sam has also found that only after a short time working with him, “… he has been very friendly and is a pleasure to work with administratively.” Let’s hear from Steve, and learn more about his wonderful clinical career:

My name is Steve Roach, I live in Cumberland, MD. I have a wife of 17 years, Heather, and we have a beautiful daughter named Savannah. I began my career working in Corrections with the State of Maryland as an Officer, Recreation Officer and Case Manager. Prior to retiring from Corrections, I completed my time in Nursing school and began working in the Emergency Department of my hometown.

I have experience working in ED, CVU, ICU, Urology, Correctional nursing and ASC’s. I began my travel/agency work in 2017, working in the Emergency Department in the Gaithersburg/Germantown area. I prefer to work in Emergency medicine for the same reason I chose to be a Nurse. I enjoy the diversity of the work and the closeness of the team of people who you stand beside on a daily basis. It continues to remind me of the time I had in the correctional field with the staff there. It is comforting to know that you can trust the person you are working with on any given day.

Throughout my nursing career I have worked with great staff and also have been impressed with the staff at Chesapeake. I began working with CMS in August 2018. I have a great working relationship with Kate and now Sam who is covering for Kate in her absence. Furthermore, I am honored for their nomination of Clinician of the Month for September. I have to thank them, and the awesome people at Adventist Healthcare Germantown Emergency Center who make my job easy with their amazing skills and knowledge, nurses and doctors.

Finally, I would like to thank the most important people in my life, Heather and Savannah who support and sacrifice daily to give me the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful career.

We are over-the-moon excited to work with you Steve, and are so happy to be on this journey with you to see what you do next.
